Is Bicester Designer Village in Oxford any good?

I am going there in February for a good shopping fix hopefully!

But have never been there before and would like to know if there are any real CHEAP bargains to be had as am still on a tight budget @ the moment!!

Am HOPING there will still be some really good reduced items in February?

And WHICH stores do you recommend for the REAL 'bargain basement' discount prices if such a thing exists there???

So which shops would you recommend for the best bargains??

If they have Jan sales I presume they'll be over / finished in Feb or not?

Thanks!!! :D

    Hiya,
I go to Bicester Village fairly often as I am not far away. I don't think you will get anything really cheap. Most of the shops are very expensive normally so even in the outlet are still expensive imo. However there are some shops where things are cheaper. Monsoon is usually quite good. FCUK is reasonable. Jack Wills are not bad. It depends what you are looking for really. Sometimes you can be lucky. I got a couple of Whistles skirt for £5 a few years ago.
Food is limited there and expensive but if you are staying for lunch there is a big Tesco next door.

I go to Bicester Village about twice a year, for a wander around, personally I think it is expensive, but then it depends on what you want.

Why not ring the shops you are interested in and ask if they still have a sale / reductions on.

    Have a good trip

    Hi

I have been to Bicester a few times and would say its probably not the best place for a real bargain. There are big reductions but the stuff is quite expensive to start with. It gets v busy so would suggest getting there early, we have spent quite a while circling the carpark for a space!

I have the comping bug! :D
  • I'd agree with the comments that it is still relatively expensive. However, I did get some good bargains in Fat Face, Accessorize and Cath Kidston when I went in November.
  • i've not been for a few years as too far away there was a diesel store there and I looooovvvveeee diesel jeans ... anything under £60-£70 is a bargain as they are usually £120 but it depends what you are looking for and what you call a bargain i suppose.... Enjoy :)

Hi, I must say I think Bicester village is great! I used to live in Bicester and dropped in often.
I loved Monsoon and Fat Face. Also bought a lovely bag in Radley at a fraction of the High Street price. Clarks is good too for the kids shoes and Petit Bateau for the kids clothes.
Also Kath Kidstone might be worth a peek.
If you like designer jeans shoes etc there are some great bargains to be had. They get new stock in all the time although it can be a bit pot luck, but i am sure you will find plenty!

Oh, and if you do go, get there early - the queues are horrendous getting into Bicester village on the weekends so well worth being there early!

I was there at the weekend and got some good prices on Coast, Fat face and Monsoon- but only the same as the 70% off sales in their high street stores. Just a bigger range. Personally it isn't my favourite outlet village as there are less traditional high street stores there, and more high end stores like Jimmy Choo, Matthew Williamson etc which even at 80% off are still more than I earn in a month. Guess it depends where you normally shop and what you buy. It would certainly be a bargain if you're used to spending those sorts of prices in the first place!! As others have said there are also places like Diesel, FCUK, Guess which may well be affordable- but I don't shop in places like that anyway- don't sell my size for one thing.

It is hit or miss- some shops occasionally will do a bargain day- Monsoon one year had everything at £10. Right place, right time.

Parking can be very busy, lunchwise there are a couple of restaurants- Carluccios, a Thai place and a bistro place. Also Pret a manger and Starbucks.

We are only usually there around 90 minutes or so as there are so many stores I simply walk past as they are well out of my budget!!

We visited after a spa break near Oxford, asked at check out the best way to get there and they gave us a voucher for a VIP card, 10% discount in most of the shops and food places. It was only valid on the day we exchanged it and there were a few T&Cs but nothing too silly.

i've been a few times, and not really bought much. i prefer the village in Portsmouth, but then i'm tight and prefer a high street bargain compared to a designer bargain! (But my mum did get a lovely bag from Bicester)
