HOW do I clean an oven chip tray...?

I have a circular Chip Tray / Pizza Tray that I cook HM chips, roasties etc in the oven.
It's got inch-sized holes all over it and is coated with a silver-type, non-stick coating.
Well..... I left in in the oven - a Rayburn, which is on all of the time - overnight and when I took it out this morning, the fat that was on it has gone all black and won't come off!
If I SCRUB with lots of elbow grease, I might be able to get some of it off but that will also take off the non-stick coating.....
What could I use to get it off...?
I've seen Kim and Aggie use Soda Crystals (?) and/or Lemon Juice......
Can you give me ideas please...?

I'd try soaking it in boiling hot water, biological washing powder and some fairy liquid. Hopefully it should come off easily after that.0

Yes the washing powder should do it, and boiling hot water. Leave until cold.0
