Selling second hand CD's and Books

Hi everyone
Not sure if this is the right area to post however...
I have stacks of excellent condition hard backed crime thriller books to sell, and also CD's and DVD's...
I do have these listed on Amazon however I was looking at quicker means to sell them - does anyone know any websites like ENVIROFONE but for books/cds/dvd's?
I have heard of Music Magpie but that is all and its not the best ...
Thanks all x

Do you have any independent record shops nearby? It might be worth taking your CDs and DVDs there to see how much they'd offer you. They often offer a higher value if you exchange which is handy if you want to buy something else (e.g. they might offer £10 cash or £12 exchange). You could always get them to cherry pick the better stuff and send anything they won't take to Music Magpie as a last resort. I've used Music Magpie and it wasn't too bad, as it was stuff I'd never sell on eBay etc.0

This question gets asked nearly every week!
Other than the obvious eBay or possibly Gumtree, or even car boot there are few options. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -

I tend to agree. Unfortunately many items, especially books have very little second hand value and it is barely worth doing anything other than donating them to a charity shop or dumping them at a car boot sale for 10-20p each.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I know this thread's a bit old, but I thought I'd add based on recent experience:
It's worth trying to find an active local second hand bookseller. If they do good business in the genre you're selling, you may get a reasonable price.
I recently sold 25 science fiction novels in paperback - most of which were exactly what you'd find in a high street chain shop - to a local book store for an average of £1 each. Not great, but better than what was posted above, and also no hassle and no major investment of my time.
(According to the bookseller, paperbacks resell better than hardbacks, by the way.)0 -

I disagree!!
I'd say an average price of £1 per book from s/hand bookseller was a great price. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -

Be careful though it is rare for books to sell so it is not worth listing unless your book is unusual and there are only a few other copies listed, or if you can discount it to beat the other sellers.
I have a rolling stock of about 150 books listed and usually would expect to sell one every 6 weeks or so. I don't list if there are already more than 10 copies and I never put my books up at more than any other copy.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
