Weekly Spend Challenge W/C 23rd January 2011

Hello everyone . Welcome to the weekly spend challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.

On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. The challenge runs from Sunday to Friday so we don't include Saturdays but feel free to change the rules to suit you and include Saturdays or start on a different day.

Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track. We colour code the results as below:

Green - within budget
Red - overbudget
Purple - zero spend
Yellow - made money over the week

This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.

Last week was not brilliant I did spend much more than I should. But it is a new week with payday on Wednesday so I am going to go for £60 in the hope that being more realistic means I can be green and then gradually reduce it each week.

I have updated the resilts and pledges from the last thread but let me know anymore and I can update.

Glad you are enojying it:D

I think I need to get some renewed motivation for budgeting and moneysaving. I think I am going to take out cash tomorrow and leave my cards at home it is the only way for me to not go off track.

Hi I am new to this thread so not sure what to include but my plan is (including today):

£30 petrol
£8 meal with friend
£100 hairdressers - for wedding - not a normal spend
£10 - milk, bread etc
£35 daughters school trip

After my green £48 last week, I'll reduce my budget ever so slightly and will pledge £45 this week - thank you as always Pointy for running the thread!

Hi, if it's not too late, can i join this one please? I havent spent anything on Sunday or Monday (so far)

I do my main grocery shopping on a Saturday, so this is just incidental expenses for me this week. I have around £15 in my pocket, so my target is to spend no more than that £15.

Evening all

Spends today were £1.70 on milk and fruit for work and I got a £2 coin so that gets saved as well as anything under 50p.
