right i am thinking about confetti- i want petal confetti- purple to match my colour scheme
1. do i just buy this from the net? or my florist????
i could be getting married outside- depending on the weather on the day-
so:
do i: place the confetti in little bags, and put on the chairs of each person (inside)
or place in a basket so ppl can get it themselves- and this would have to be the case if the wedding was outside
also: is a little bag enough for each person?
thanks

My sister told me that florists often take outer petals off of your boquest flowers to make sure the flowers look their best, so she asked for her florist to put all those "spare" petals in a bag and used them for table decorations, I'm sure you could do the same but use them for confetti.
Not everyone throws confetti at weddings, as you've always got people taking photos etc so I think your basket idea, for people to pick up if they want is a great idea.0 -
I bought petal confetti from Ebay, the seller also had lovely folded paper cones with a personalised label on - so nice I kept one in my keepsake box
They were given to every lady at the ceremony by one of the groomsmen

Check with the venue that they allow confetti...some dont...even some hotels can be a little iffy when it comes to the word confetti....!
are you after real dried petals...this could be difficult to source in purple as there are very few purple flowers to dry without adding a dye...which may run into clothes...
you can get artificial petals in most colours ...but they can be quite big and also quite expensive if you want loads...
something like this

or this one would be the natural version..but may be more blue than purple

I think both ideas of the individual bags or the basket is good....or you could just have one larger basket containing the petals by the door that everyone takes a few from to throw...or better still if you have a small person at the wedding they could hold the basket?frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

We're making our own cones and placing them in 3 or 4 baskets (will probably give to ushers to hand out- keep them busy!). Not given it a great deal of thought but when I last did (!) we were hoping for ivory petals and mixing in punched out apple shapes in the matching green and brown.0

I have seen it in real life and it is a good purple colourHave considered this myself... need decide soon as I will want to put in the invite info that we will be supplying confetti, if we are, tehn people don't need to bring their own (uncoordinated!) confetti! :rotfl:

I don't think you will be allowed to throw silk petals outside- they won't degrade and would be a nightmare to tidy up (probably impossible if our weather has anything to do with it...) I'm also toying with the idea of dried lavender, as it would also smell nice but I'm not sure where to bulk buy lavender from and then I'd need to make cones up. I'm getting pretty good at thinking of more jobs to give myself at the mo!0
