Has anyone in the area had dealings with Transform, any idea if they take electrical items for the kitchen - we have just replaced our combi microwave oven, the old one still works, have packaged it up in the box, would like it to go to someone who can use it...

No offence intended by this, but please don't suggest the British Heart Foundation shop in the Wellgate, have been past it and seen some of the prices they are charging for second hand stuff - I'd rather give the oven directly to a charity that will pass it straight onto someone who needs it.

Thanks in advance for anyone who can help. :)

  • I had not heard of them , but quick look around the net shows they are part of Cyrenians who as far as I know are reputable enough.
Another organisation to consider are Womans Aid when I was getting rid of my daughter's cot & pram I gave them an email to see if they would be of any use to them, received a nice polite email back, & a lovely lady came & picked them up & was very grateful.
Please don't think I'm saying don't give the cooker to Transform, just something else to think about.
    Booo!!!

Thanks for the suggestion, Violetta, I had forgotten about women's aid.

It's such a waste to throw it away when it's still working, it's a nice big oven, I've been cooking tea for the three of us in it for plenty years now and never felt the need for a bigger oven. :)
If I Freecycled it I'd be thinking it would be going on e-bay rather than to someone in need;)
