hi
I live in a rural area will no indian shops.
I only ever go into the city about once a year if that, so i am looking for an online retailer of indian spices... i am sick of paying supermarket prices for spices which i know are much cheaper if bought in indian grocers. I have been meaning for the last few years to go into one of the cities and buy some but i just don't go into cities or big towns at all.
can anyone recommend an online supplier ?
thanks

I have only used these once, but the quality was good, and the parcel arrived the next day.0 -
You could try The Spice Box in York. I've never bought online, only in the shop, and the quality is excellent

I'll move this to the Grocery Shopping Board later.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. I was looking at this website earlier - it was mentioned in the suppliers list in Mexican Food Made Simple by Thomasina Miers.
Bristol Sweet Mart
P&P is £4.50 which is quite steep but worth it if you're buying a lot of stuff.0 -

wow - i wish i had not looked at that site;) I have put £34 of stuff in my shopping basket, i will not buy it all - but i will have a think and go back and buy just some of it later ...
have you bought the curry mixes or just the spices alone?
The Curry mixes are tempting me as well as the box with 10 spices in...
plus lots of ideas for christmas presents etc...
I am thinking the curry mixes will be great for DH to use when i am not here...
P+P is £5 but the mixes keep in the freezer for 6 months - so we normally cook curry at least once a week.. so..hum this is not very moneysaving but if it stops DH going out to buy a takeaway...
We have a shoulder of lamb cooking at the moment and as i smell it i am dreaming of the leftovers made into lamb saag..

I think i will also make up a hamper from there with other bits for my sisters wedding present...
hum - quite an expensive spend day here....
but i am now cooking a curry banquet for 12 next weekend....
i will let you know how it turns out..:rotfl:

I use the Asian Cook Shop. They also stock a range of other ethnic and oriental herbs, spices and more. They also have a great selection of Jamaican products aswell. I can't remember how much the delivery cost was.0

https://www.thespicery.com is really good. You have to spend £5 but it's free 1st class delivery and they sell teaspoon size packs which are in my opinion of the ones I've had at least 3 teaspoons for 59p (or bigger packs available for a bit more) plus mixed packs and a main course and pudding box for £5.
Have ordered 4 times now and been very happy
parcel comes very quickly! Sealed Pot Challenge #1666 - up for raising as much as poss
