Help with iTunes

I had all my CDs uploaded to iTunes but I had to reset my laptop back to factory setting due to a virus. Does anyone know if that means I have lost all my music or is there some way to 'sign in' to iTunes? I didn't buy any of the songs from iTunes. I don't want to chance losing all the songs from my iPod. Any ideas????

just use a free one0 -
I remember trying to get music off my ipod a few years back. iTunes wouldn't let me, so I went into the files (they were hidden files, so had to make them visible first), then transferred them all onto computer. But the track names were something stupid like KPMN - 4 letters. But when loaded on itunes still had all the details on them.0

Yes, you probably lost all your music. Next time you need to reset your laptop, back up your files on a hard drive.
If you want to transfer your songs from your iPod to your iTunes on your laptop, use PodWorks. it's £3.82, but it works really well: http://www.macworld.co.uk/macsoftware/reviews/index.cfm?reviewid=2482. Good luck!0 -

I dont have an Ipod, but have an archos mp3 player.
I bought a laptop recently and decided that I wanted to transfer my music from media player onto the laptop.
I was going to load all the music on memorysticks and load bit by bit. Then I thought that if I plugged in my mp3 into the laptop would it do it for me.
Windows media came up with '' do you wish to sync archos with media player?'' I pressed yes and it automatically did it for me, took about 2 hours as I have 15gb of music on my mp3 player.
Hopefully you may be able to do that with your ipod, don't know whether you have tried it0
