Is this paypal or ebay's problem?

I have been clearing out for a few months now (it's slow!) and have been spending some of my 'earnings' on ebay. I have an intermittent problem between ebay and Paypal and wonder if anyone else has the same issue? I really need to know how to solve it!

When I try to pay via paypal, the ebay invoice page takes me through to paypal, I login into paypal and then the page for reviewing the payment comes up. I hit 'pay' and I get taken straight back to ebay without the payment having been made. The longest it has taken me to pay someone has been 7 days (a business seller who was very understanding) but obviously, not everyone wants/is able to wait that long and I'm worried that at some point, someone's going to open a case against me.

Paypal seem to think it's an ebay glitch. Ebay think it's a paypal glitch. Ideas?!

Well it sounds like a Paypal glitch, Ebay doesn't care which account you use to pay so long as it's a Paypal one.

When you say you login to Paypal has the email address of the account already been auto-filled for you? Could you delete then retype the address and password in? When you've had this problem have you logged into your Paypal account directly to see if there's any indication of a failed payment? Are you getting payments to the account okay when you sell things? Is the account verified? Is there spare cash in the account?

yes logged in directly - no indication of failed payment. It it simply not making a payment, like it bypasses the payment altogether and thinks I wanted to be in ebay rather than paypal so takes me there (to the main front page, as if I haven't logged in, not to 'my ebay' or to a page asking me what I want to do now). I had the same thing this morning - tried 5 times and on the 6th, it all went through without a hitch! very strange! Yes, get payments fine when selling. Yes, plenty of money in the paypal account. Yes, have verified. It's a glitch between me, paypal and ebay I think!

I will try the cookie clearing thing and see if that helps. thanks for trying!
