Well it is WXGA with 1280x768 pixels and has an HDMI input so it is basically HD ready. I have bought Akura products before and found them very reliable.
I would buy one if I needed it.
By the way I think all this HD business from Sky,etc. is just marketing hype having seen it, but I'm sure someone out there would disagree.0
