Mortgages and radical career change

Hi there
A friend of mine is about to arrange her first mortgage. She qualifies comfortably with a very well paid job but is intending to leave her job and start her own business within two months of the first mortgage payment.
At first this will mean a 100% pay cut but she has deliberately saved up enough money to cover three years of mortgage payments.
Should she inform anyone about her plan? Presumably no one will know or care if all the payments just keep rolling in?

If she hasn't already resigned then I wouldn't tell. I would imagine that the revelation would not please the mortgage company.0
