thanks Strider. good advice.0 -
I advise against this on your cv - it is easy to interpret you as a "difficult employee" rather than a "hero"Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0 -
I agree with Emzi, if someone has dismissed or doesn't get a referance from their last company then I would avoid like the plague. The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!
If I give you advice it is only a view and always always take professional advice before acting!!!

This is a great way of making yourself unemployable.
Who is going to employ someone who can't give a reference from their last employer but bìtches about them on their CV?0 -

Try to make yourself feel better about your job by collecting as much information as you can regarding this mis-selling. Get documentary evidence of complaints, note when you have been shouted at or sworn at. Write everything down. This will make you feel that at least you are being proactive. In the meantime do your job in the most ethical way you can. This means knowing your product really well so you can sell it properly, making really sure your customer knows what they are signing up to etc.
if it comes to it and you are forced to leave or are fired you may be able to go for constructive dismissal if you have evidence of these types of working conditions.
Do you have any colleagues who feel the same and who might join you in making a complaint? the swearing at east should not happen as it could be construed as bullying.
In the meantime try to get another job.0 -
Sorry to hear about the stress your work is giving to you
Is this common through out the whole company? is there someone more senior than person shouting and swearing who can help? Is there anyone in HR who can aid you??
I understand how difacult it must be, but there are plenty of reputable sales companys out there, i echo whoever sugested going with a recruitment agency (alot are open saturdays) You could always book days off for interveiws etc....0 -
I was very unhappy in my work approx 4 years ago. Working for the one of the most underhand/unethical/immoral employers on the south coast who didn't think twice about shouting/swearing etc. I originally felt the same as the OP. Trapped in a c**p job with seemingly no escape.
Well I couldn't live with myself knowing customers were being lied to so I walked out. I had never been out of work for 38 years since I left school at 16(well 15 as I started my apprenticeship on my 16th birthday)Didn't give a single thought to how I was going to manage without a job, but my mental well-being meant more to me.
Did a few odd jobs, anything really, to pay the bills while looking for another job. Within a few weeks I managed to secure the job I am in now which is my dream job.
My line manager has since said one of the reasons he was willing to employ me was that I seemed happy in myself.0
