I'm experimenting with my BM trying to get a decent loaf but latest one hasnt risen so is just a heavy doughy loaf at bottom of pan - don't want to waste it - so any ideas what I can do with it? (not bread+butter pud because I've just used half of a stale loaf to do that with and it's gonna keep us going for a while yet!)

Well you can freeze bread and butter pudding, or you could make Bread Pudding (like a cold thick cake) and that's also freezeable.
If you've made a sweet bread & butter pudding, you could make a savoury b&b pudding (cheese; cheese & ham; cold cuts with sweated onion?) and freeze that as well.
I think I'm trying to say, don't discount the fact that most things can be frozen so that you won't be eating the same thing, day in, day out for the next 2 weeks.
You could even freeze the slab of bread until you decide what to do with it, then make it up into whatever, and once cooked, freeze it again!
At worst ... blitz it in a food processor as bread crumbs, (yes, you can freeze those too ) and use them up in other recipes requiring breadcrumbs. ) and use them up in other recipes requiring breadcrumbs.

roll it out flat and use it as a pizza base? I love making pizza in my bread maker, I think the recipe would be a bit different, but I can't believe it would make that much difference.

Thanks for the idea Joe but it's a baked doughy lump hard on the outside so if I managed to roll it out I don't think anyone would want to eat it! Think bread thrown into pond in "Love Actually"... (Resulted in a dead duck for anyone who hasn't seen it!!!) oops, I didn't read your post properly, I didn't realise it was cooked. Gave me a giggle to imagine you furiously trying to roll out a loaf though!

Surely the 'Dead duck' incident was from the film and book called 'About A Boy' not 'Love Actually'....lol...anyway, maybe it was used in both |I can't remember much about 'Love Actually'
 Back to the thread now,
Use your cooked lump of thingy to make fried croutons for putting in soup. or use this recipe:
Warm Bread with Tomato and Ham
12 thick slices (about 12 ounces) stale crusty bread
 2 cloves garlic, halved
 2 medium tomatoes, halved crosswise
12 thin slices Serrano ham or prosciutto
1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil, or to taste
Heat oven to 325° F. Place the bread on a baking sheet and toast in oven for 10 minutes. Remove and immediately rub each slice with the garlic, then with the tomatoes, smearing the pulp into the bread. Top each piece of bread with a slice of ham, a sprinkle of the salt, and a drizzle of the olive oil.
ummm..yummy! :TA penny saved is a penny earned

You're right Joolz it was 'About A Boy' - got confused cos Huge Rant is in both!!
Thanks for the recipe too - it does sound delish  but I think this [STRIKE]lump[/STRIKE] loaf is too far gone for that
I was thinking more along the lines of including it in something like bread & butter pudding (but not that cos I'm only one that eats it!)You should never call somebody else a nerd or geek because everybody (even YOU !!!) is an"anorak" about something whether it's trains, computers, football, shoes or celebs :rotfl:

What about one one of those summer puddings where you line a pudding basin with bread and fill with berries, and then... bake it/let it soak? I don't know but I'm sure someone has a recipe!
