Hi all,
This morning I put my glasses on and the bridge snapped! I had this repair done a few years back for a fixed fee, something like £19 and think it may have been Nationwide Frame Repairs. They seem to be the biggest repairers but I also looked into Spec Repairs and Spec-tech which both offered quick repairs.
I checked for reviews and Spec-tech had a really bad review so I'm thinking about Spec Repairs as they sound really good.
I was intrigued as well to see what they looked like on Google Maps and they are a very modest little building with a front shutter on an industrial estate under the name or Premiere Optical Services. I think they seem to be the same place as the address is the same.
Can anyone advise of any good/reliable places with good prices?
There's another one near to me but I can't see it on Google Maps and with so many companies going down at the moment I don't really want to send off my glasses to an abandoned building or something (unable to contact any by phone today to check).

Many thanks in advance

I just wanted to post an update on this in case anyone might be interested or come across this forum post looking for the same thing. I decided to go with a company called 'Spec Repairs' as they seemed to have cheap prices and good reviews. The website advises that nearly all frame repairs cost less than £19.99:
    http://www.specrepairs.com/low_cost.asp#framerepairs
My glasses were posted recorded guaranteed next day delivery on Saturday and arrived with them this morning. I called to check delivery this morning and they confirmed this then called back in the afternoon. They said that my rimless glasses would need the bridge replacing which would cost £35 + VAT + P&P = a total of £49.19!!!
I also had cracks appearing in one lens where the arm was attached so they advised both lenses would need to be replaced which would be at a cost of £60 for standard anti-scratch coating lenses and an extra £20 for anti reflective or £40 for anti reflective and guaranteed non-scratch.
So in total I'd be looking at paying at least £109.19 or £149.19 for the lenses the same as I had before when I bought the glasses. They can't confirm the quote without a prescription and my opticians insists I have to get that by post or go into store...
I did a quick search and found a website called specs by post and saw a very similar pair of glasses for only £75 with anti reflective coating and anti scratch...
Does it seem like a false economy in this case getting them repaired? I'm pretty much replacing everything apart from the arms!
