instore order cancellation policy - Dreams

I ordered a bed instore last week (6 days ago). I now wish to cancel the order as I need more time to decide what I want - I made the decision rashly and under pressure.
I signed an order instore, without reading the small print or being informed by the salesperson that Dreams has a 24 hour cancellation policy. After that you forfeit 20% or the deposit (which is 20%!). I assumed I had 7 days cooling off (I now know this is for internet/tele sales).
While they do 'make to order', the store could easily sell the standard mattrass I ordered (and these are on backorder given Xmas demand). I'd accept a reasonable cancellation admin fee (£20-50?) but 20% is excessive (as is the 24 hour cancellation period on a £3,200 product)
So I'm stuck - any ideas?
Was the store required to inform me of the 24 hour cooling off period - or is it my fault for not reading the print?

Hi smith007,
How did you go with resolving this?
Can you send me a Private Message as I am currently in dispute with Dreams and would really appreciate your advice?
Thanks!0
