Acrylic paint on oak table!!

Options
Help...my son was painting airfix models on the tabel, and accidentally spilled acrylic paint.
The table is untreated oak so it looks like the paint has sunk into the grain.

I've scrubbed it with a damp microfibre cloth which has brought the majority off, but how can I get the stain off?

thanks

Ah right....I'll try that...can I get it from the usual DIY stores?

  • Have you considered asking the same question over at the Airfix Tribute Forum or the Unofficial Airfix Modellers' Forum?

You will have to sign up to post a question. You can expect the regulars to pester you to post photographs of junior's efforts, too. They just like looking at other people's builds, is all.

This kind of question comes up quite often. If I had to guess, I'd say something like a micromesh polishing pad (http://miniatures.about.com/od/finishingmaterials/fr/micromeshreg.htm; cost about £9), but the experts over there will know better.

If the table is solid oak, not just a veneer, can you not sand it down then revarnish?
