Where to buy food in North Bristol

Hi
I've recently moved to Bristol, currently in Bradley Stoke area. Can anyone recommend a good butcher, fishmonger and greengrocer?
Thanks

  • Not really your nearest area, sorry, but I use Gloucester Rd/Cheltenham Rd for most things - there is a fabulous weigh your own shop (Scoopaway) for dried stuff which is much cheaper than most shops for bread flour etc. Also several greengrocers, a few butchers & fishmonger. It is an area that is still mostly independent shops, & also has a great craft shop, wool shop & Oxfam bookshop & has several good cafes, so I make a day out of shopping :rotfl: & I have a large shopping trolley...

I don't drive, so I'm not sure about parking, but all 70something buses go up Glos Rd for the centre (Broard Quay etc.). My family all live in Bristol & all stopped driving for local journeys years ago as the traffic is so bad - I guess you'll find this out soon enough!

Hopefully someone else will appear with places nearer to you.
& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin :D

If you're in need of anything foreign, I'd recommend Wai Yee Hong which is hidden in the shopping centre next to the Tesco Extra on the M32. There is also a market in their car park some Saturdays, which sells reasonably price fruit/veg.

The link below is for a Farmer's market starting this friday if that is any interest to you? I have never been to this particular one but most of the farmer's markets around Bristol seem ok?

I did say "hidden"! It is in a business park just behind Halfords, Asda Living, etc. The store actually has its own car park too.
