Good luck and I wish you well.
We also got rid of our debts by selling a property - an investment flat.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
its a rich man try moving to larkhall big village outside glasgow but sooooo cheap ..if you compare it to bothwell or glasgow it would be like comparing london to banjul in gambia....i think your doing the right thing...i would do the same if i could afford it0

Itsarichman you have equity built up so whats the problem? and the overpaying on the mortgage is a brilliant idea. Prices in Glasgow have rocketed so take advantage! The fixed price should mean a quick sale Good Luck:beer:Every Penny's a prisoner :T0

Aw I wouldn't say you're cheating I would say its a very sensible step towards a happy and settled new beginning

I was however gobsmacked at the property prices being as I live in Surrey you couldn't buy a garage round here for that price :rotfl:
Best of luck to you and I hope you get the property you want :T0 -
Thanks Guys!
I hope we get this house but as my mammy used to say whats for ye wont go by ye!
Just getting our house sorted just now to "showhome standard"

Well done!
Ooh..Nitromors is nasty stuff. I'm assuming you're getting old paint off something? I used it in a previous house - a tip - alternate with wire wool if the going gets tough...7 layers of paint we were taking off deep skirting boards and found some..umm..interesting colours shall we say lol!Back on the DFW Wagon:
CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/180 -
It's not cheating at all as I did the very same thing earlier this year. Went from debts of £17K to zero in one fell swoop.
Sadly not everyone on this board has the same luxury.0 -
Ali I've been doing one radiotor for 2 days I have no idea how many layers of paint were on there lets just say a lot  and its still not done but the fumes are getting to me now!
Next to go is stripping the wallpaperin the spare room! I've officially put the house up for sale on a website might need to get the estate agents involved though.
does anyone know if its suitable to let people view a house whilst your still fixing cosmetic parts ie painting gonna take roughly a week we dont have?
Malky I'm glad you had the same luxury I know we're very lucky Just feel I'm not doing it the DFW way!
But to be debt free.... heavenIsn't the knowledge that comes from experience more valuable than the knowledge that doesn't?0 -
