Curry spices taste raw in curry

I have been cooking a curry and started with the onions.
I added the spices/curry powder and cooked it in for a bit but obviously not long enough.
It now tastes raw if you know what I mean.
Is there anything I can do to recover it?

Not a great deal but try adding something sweet like some tomato ketchup or a bit of sugar. You could also try frying up some more onion and spices-use a good amount of oil and fry for at least 10 mins and then add that to the original curry ( if hot enough already use mild spices like cumin, coriander, turmeric or paprika)

I find this used to happen with powdered spices - I tend to buy whole and bash them up before frying them off now. Often leaving it to go cold and then reheating and eating the next day can help as well - also stirring through some yoghurt before eating.
