Post Bankruptcy Job Offer and Security Clearance

Hi!

I'm really sorry if this has been covered in another post somewhere, but I just wanted to know if anyone has any experience or knowledge of how bankruptcy affects an application for security clearance?

I have been offered a job, but one of the pre-requisites is that I am security cleared because the job involves working for a company that are contracted in to work on certain MOD projects. I declared myself bankrupt on 7th May 2008 and need to know whether it is worth pursuing the job any further or whether it would be better to stop now before I waste everyone's time.

Thanks,

Penny

Hey. It shouldn't make any difference at all, especially as you're discharged. Give it a go and good luck :T

Bankruptcy is not a bar to being security cleared.

OK. Not the best example, as the post was cancelled due to a recruitment freeze.

But they did get through the checks. :)

they mainly check for a criminininal record.....terrorrroorrist links, etc...

Warning..if the company expects to get paid by the MoD, remember ..the MoD has been totally insolvent since last summer....if ever a government department was a prime candidate for BR, the MoD is!

Tell your new bosses to ask if they can be paid ...''up front?''
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......
