I'm normally pretty laid back with things out of date (apart from chicken) and I normally don't worry about cheese but I have a mozzarella that s a couple of days out of date. Does everyone think that this will be fine??

If it smells and looks OK, I'd eat it.Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

I'd taste a little bit of it - if it's off you'll know. (I had one a while ago that went off when still in date, and it tasted horrible - so you'll certainly know if it's gone off!

I've eaten bacon a week past its sell by date after advice on here recently, and it ws fine. No hesitations, unless its growing a beard.0

I had some mozzarella recently that was two MONTHS out of date
It was fine. I still have one in the fridged that was BBE November, I'll use it over the weekend.
Smell it and check for mould. If it looks and smells ok, taste a wee bit. If it doesn't taste off, it's fine.0 -
I second CCP - cut off the TINIEST bit; have a biscuit or something strong like toast and marmite at the ready; stand over sink; put piece of mozzarella gingerly on your tongue.
If you don't immediately spit it into the sink going bleurch! yuck! disgusting! and reach for the biscuit/toast and marmite to take the taste away...
then it is fine.0 -

I recently brought some mozzarella that was reduced from £1.50 to 50p per bag, sliced them up and bunged them in the freezer, so just so you know for next time, use what you need and then freeze the leftover piece for next time
I've just found this link that may be of interest.
As for the mozzy you have currently, i'd concur with other OS'ers... try a little of it, and if it doesn't taste awful, eat the rest.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200
