I've had a bit of an issue with my pay in work. Back in September I started in a new position, but within the same NHS trust where I was working previously. Now in my new position I am a grade higher than in my last role. Since september I have not been receiving my pay slips as they have been going astray. Anyway payroll have finally tracked them all down and sent them to me at home. On inspection I have discovered that since september I have been paid at my old rate of pay, rather than on the new higher band.
I spoke to my manager today and she said it must have been an oversight by her predesessor (?sp) who was supposed to fill in a change of circumstances form to payroll in order for the new pay to take effect. Now this manager assured me she had done this before I left. Each month, whilst waiting for my payslips I have checked my online balance to ensure my pay was going in, but not having any payslips I did not know if the amount was correct. My wages had gone up slightly, but then I wasn't expecting a huge rise because the difference between my old pay and my new pay wasn't that huge, and I also receive travel expenses too (which have also been messed up but that is another story!!)
So after that long explanation, a few people have asked me how I haven't noticed for 5 months!! So just wondering if any of you wise MSErs out there I payslip experts and would have spotted the problem without setting their eyes on their payslip. Do many of you know what your pay should be to the penny each month, if your pay varies due to travel expenses or unsocial hours for instance?....and does that just mean I am a bit dim!!
