Jacket potato in combi microwave

Hi all,

Just a quickie (can't find a related thread). What's the best way to cook a jacket potato in a combi microwave so it's nice and crisp, please? We always do them in the oven as I like the way it cooks them but I'm sure there's a good way to do them in the microwave.

Thanks

I have a separate micro as the micro part of my combi broke but I give the potatoes a blast in the micro until they're softening up, then put them into a hot oven until they're crispy; can't give times as it depends on size/number of potatoes and how powerful the oven is ;)

Any chance of ball park figures please as I have no feel for if I should cook them for 5 mins or 50 mins!

for one medium potato I would micro for 5 minutes, then test to see if if its squidgy :D if not keep giving it another minute until it is; I would give it 15/20 minutes in a hot oven, 190 degrees preheated, but keep checking, it made need more it may need less ;)

are you wanting to cook them totally in the microwave

if so, i would assume reading the manual that came with the micowave would be a starting point, as things do vary between models

my combi, you select they type of food you want to cook, and then input the weight and it works out how long it needs to cook it

usually takes about 15 mins to cook

or if i have the oven on, and to save time, i do as suggested above. microwave the spud til cooked and then just put in the oven to brown/crisp
