Buy the Argos ones instead. You can take them back if the quality is poor.
I already ordered mine (yesterday), but wouldn't have got the Argos ones as a substitute as they are for gifts. I would give a set of towels from Debenhams (or M&S/HOF etc) but not Argos. I don't know why really, I guess it's maybe a form of snobbery.
If they were good quality I would buy them for myself but not as a gift.
No offence to Argos.
p.s. these are still in stock if anyone wants the pink ones:

Here are the individual white towels - so the £12 6-piece bale would cost £55 if bought separately!!!!!

I called my mum tonight and told her about the offer and she said that M&S have been doing the bale for ages for £7.50!!
Rained on my parade and she's right!!!
So I have now duly bought the bale from M&S for £5 cheaper than Debenhams- just when you think you've covered all the MSE tricks!LBM: January 2010DFD: August 27th 20120 -

I have no idea what they are like though. Someone posted this on here yesterday.0 -
The good thing about Debenhams is that they provide free returns.
Once my Debenhams towels arrive, I'll pop down to M&S to have a look at their towel bales. If the M&S towels are the same / better quality than the Debenhams towels, I'll just return the Debenhams towels.0 -
I got a couple of these towel bales instore at Debs last week, they were either £15 each or 2 for £20, so I got 2 making them just £10 each.
They also had other bales which were (according to the sales rep) seasonal stock, that said reduced from £50 to £20 on the price ticket, but really they seemed very very similar & no better than the value ones. I'm happy to have got the values ones instead; they're lovely & twice as many towels for the same money!0 -
Got a bale of these some time ago for Granddaughter, who is setting up home for the first time. It was Debs last sale before Christmas I think, but much the same price as now. She absolutely loves them - lovely fluffy towels and very absorbent.0

I have seen the cheaper bales in both Debs and M&S, neither are Egyptian cotton (nor are the Argos ones). The Egyptian cotton ones are thicker and look like they will last a lot longer. Cheap towels are a false economy imho. My mum still has towels that she received as wedding presents!Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs
