Cake stand ... have spent too much or was it reasonable?

I've been looking at cake stands, some of them are sooooo expensive  even hiring seemed rather expensive in my local area and a real pain in the backside!!

We are having two sqaure cakes, larger fruit and smaller sponge and I wanted to have them at different levels.

So I bought these ... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140497155694&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

I'm trying to persuade myself they will get used again (singularly or in plural) at parties etc and I would be happy to lend out to family/friends etc.

Essentially it's bits of acrylic ... have I just spent too much on them? :o

Thanks for the reassurance, spent ages looking at various ones and loved some of them but was wondering how I could/would ever use them again.

I make a lot of cakes and I usually buy the cake stands on ebay then resell them after the event as I don't have space to store them. I haven't once made a loss on one, so you can always resell them. :) cel x
