Mortgage broker or direct to bank

I went to see a mortgage broker with countrywide based in a frank innes branch but after getting home from my first meeting i have read nothing but bad things about them (countrywide). he is not whole of market either just 11 lenders covered.
The main thing i worry about is that everytime i would go to a bank there will be a credit check made and added to the file.

A whole of market broker will be worth a visit.
Would you be prepared to pay a broker a fee for finding a direct lender for you,i.e one who does not deal with a broker? That way you would cover all angles in one visit or phone callI am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
