The 500 points for 2 for 1 travel on eurostar is excellent, also 2 for 1 on west end shows for 200 seems a good idea, saves £40,(I know,I've only just bought some)

  • Just went through this thread and got 1800 points. Checked to see whats for auction and in my opinion prizes are poor and expensive. The only 'affordable' items are discounts that can easily be found on this site. I don't think its worth the hassle, that’s 5 minutes of my life wasted :( .
  • and my inbox full of crap.

As you say the offer on MSE are much better!

  • Sigh.

I've been one of the original believers of this promotion, I had managed to get the stock at cost price and lower and had the WHOLE competition all figured out, detailed spreadsheets full of equations to calculate what's the max I should bid on the item, how much a specific batch of Kit Kats cost me in total of points, price per point etc...

This WHOLE competition is full of errors.

As I am no longer competiting and have given up on this competition after spending £1000+ accumluating these points, I will offer up this advice. If you check the Past Winners and have access to the basic electoral roll, notice only the big items i.e. the Cars on the Cheap match the name and location that supposedly won the prize - yet these people all MAGICALLY have private numbers and can't be reached by i.e. me.

Another thing is the misleading nature that they get all you people into believing that the car could be won for £20 and such. FIRSTLY, it has to do with "the luck of the clicks" as a pro-comper (person that engages frequently in competitions) has told me and I have experienced myself. I have on MANY an occasion had more than enough pounts to win the item, yet magically ALWAYS seem to lose out. The "secret" is supposedly to click refresh in the milliseconds between 2 and 1 seconds before the auction ends and bid RIGHT when it is between 1 and 0 seconds. This auction method is flawed and there are a few individuals as you notice that artifically bid up the item to make it seem like there is a really big demand firstly, and secondly driving it out the range the "normal bidder". A practice such as bidding up artificially an auction is vastly regarded as illegal in America, and having countless EBayers duly punished for this.

I am getting tired of commenting on this subject, I've offered my advice to LOTS of my friends who is clearly now steering clear of this competition.

My advice finally is, Don't load up ALL your wrappers into one account, Competition holders are known to change the rules midway through for example, to restrict winnings to first time winners only and such. A clue to this is the limit on number of accounts per household.
