This really is bad news, I don't know what I'd have done if I'd not had the CAB there to support me over christmas and setting me off on my self-managed DMP
She did state this was in the pipeline but thought they might get a reprieve.LBM: 22.12.2010 :j Self-managed DMP start 29.1.2011DMP Mutual Support Thread No: 4130 -
I've been away a couple of days. This is just starting to attract attention from the media

I've PMd/emailed Martin, but even if he chooses to mention it publicly it all seems too little & too late?Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I used to volunteer in a debt charity, I hope they won't be affected0

I was a money adviser, but gave it up when DS was born.
Superb job, I would have thought they would be needed just now ?Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Just heard the news via Management via The Guardian...we had been through the formal redundancy procedures but hoped that someone might actually look beyond March 2011 and consider where the hundred's of client's up and down the country each WEEK will go with their enquiries? No one has yet come up with this answer and we have 10 weeks left of our contracts. I doubt many will be able to wait til the end of March and so will be leaving in advance of this date. A sad day for everyone involved; workers and clients alike.0

I've posted the latest news on the other thread on the bankruptcy board

As most of the views, and activity are over there (and MSE Wendy has been asked to post there by Martin) I suggest we concentrate on that thread.0 -
Im a debt advisor in Birmingham funded by the fif , Im devastated by the news as are all of my collegues , the cab in the area are also have similar cuts therefore there will no access to free debt advice . I will be one of many advisers looking for work in the field , Im not optimistic that I will find another job as a debt adviser in the current climate . It seems a false economy to train people to do a job then make them redundant .0
