Hi everyone, I am looking for a loan of £2000 and I have only been with my bank for 3 months so they won't give me one. I am in a full time job, get payed just over 800 a month. I've had a lot of bank charges in the past but have had two credit cards and payed them off in full. I just want a company that will so me a £2000 pound loan that's not got ridicuolous interest on it and isn't for people with really bad credit. Im looking on google and all that seems to come up is loans for people with bad creadit it wanting you to put your details in so they can give them to loads of companys that will try and rip me off. Just want a company thats in between if anyone can help me out, cheers

I am with Ratsetter for my loan 13K i know easy to use company friendly person who actually listened for once. So i actually feel good taking a loan out with these guys who will make a profit from my loan repayments but at the end of the day its going back to people and not a bank. Go with ratesetter in my honest opinion for those of you who are genuine about clearing your debt.0

These Rat(e)setter (!) people sound good and I was tempted to sign up and get a quote.
I need a minimum of £500 for commuting costs after landing a new job (where I will eventually have to relocate) but am tempted to ask a bit more. Whatever the sum, I would be looking to pay this back in a couple of months and certainly less than a year. Do not fancy a "pay-day" loan as the interest rates are exorbitant (taking the P!). However, as explained in another topic, I have NO credit history in the UK for the past 15 years!
Also, I am currently using my sister's bank a/c and am thinking that this will further undermine my attempts at getting credit (from whichever source that may be).
Can any of you wiser or more experienced people out there give me some insights? For info, I start my new role on Monday next ....
Thanking you
Can't even do a credit score check coz my bank card is in my sister's name (see above) ... "Banging my head against ..." springs to mind pfff0 -

thats funny, in your other two spam promotional posts, the amount borrowed was 7K...
Hi Only Paddy,
The reason for the discrepancy in loan amount is i took a top up on my initial loan, i hope that satisfy your curiosity.
Not a proud moment to borrow more money and let the world and his dog know. I could have just said I borrowed a fair amount.0 -

look in their T&C - they do charge an admin fee or trying to collect the loan.0 -

I would say try with your bank - you need to be able to prove your credit history, i did because i owe money on Credit card.0 -
To saeiabp:
Thanks for that but as I said, I'm using my sister's a/c. I have an appointment next week and they (the bank) have agreed to accept "alternative" ID. If I qualify, I can then have an agreed o/d which will eventually enable other (cheaper?) methods of credit. If I don't qualify - due to lack of credit history, I'll have a basic a/c with no credit facilities
I was employed but due to lack of funds (been let down by some peeps), could no longer commute and my contract has been cancelled! Now, I have another offer with much higher salary but same commuting hassles so, unless I can get this sorted, will not be taken on
Was thinking of asking Provident to agree a loan subject to employment - that is, if I get the job I get the loan but have you seen their apr??!!!
Really don't know what to do :mad:0 -
Babache
Your lack of credit history may make this difficult but once you have a bank account set up it might be worth applying for a subprime credit card to use for your commuting costs - yes the APRs are high, but not provident or payday loan high, and at least you can pay it back as soon as you are able to reduce the overall borrowing cost.
