  • Ive just had a look on https://www.tommeetippee.co.uk and they dont have one,
Are you sure TT make them?? (I know it sounds silly... but they may not!)

Seeing as this is a money saving site.... I never had a bottle warmer, I just did the old faithful jug of hot water routine, much cheaper! :)

sorry i cant be of more help!
  • thats what i mean, i dont think they make one but if anyone knows of any bottle warmer which the bottles fit in it would be greatly greatly appreciated. i know a jug of hot water works but i am brickin it as is my first one and dont have a clue how hot it should be

A bottle warmer is a lot less hassle to use than a jug of hot water, and it's more efficient too as you only heat up a tiny amount of water - less than you could boil in a kettle. They use a tiny amount of electricity.

Our cheap bottle warmer from ALDI fits all the bottles which we have, which are a variety of makes. But it was one of their one-off specials. I would have thought any bottle warmer would fit most sizes of bottle, to be honest.
  • have a look round the shops, boots etc and try the bottles for size, im sure the shops wouldn't mind that...

I bought the avent bottle warmer for my first baby when I started bottle-feeding her at 6 months. I wanted it as I thought - fab - pop it next to my bed at night then I can heat the bottles easier etc...didn't think through that the bottles would be downstairs in the fridge...:rotfl: ...found it a bit of a hassle to be honest, you still have to set it to what temperature you want, what size bottle you want heated up etc and I was always convinced I'd done it wrong - kept checking it instead of leaving it alone - it did take a while to heat up regardless so I just stuck with the jug and hot water trick after a few days.

bakerlad - bottles should be about body temperature (just think breastmilk here as a guide! breastmilk doesn't come out that hot - neither should bottle milk) the old trick of a few drops on inside of wrist works well :o

Why are the bottles in the fridge?

Prepare the bottles full of WATER, warm them when you need them and THEN add the milk. No need to store bottles of water in the fridge, so far less hassle.

We did it the other way for a while, then realised warming water bottles was better.

Why are the bottles in the fridge?????

Because I made the bottles up when I was more 'with-it' during the day/evening, as opposed to counting out scoops of milk into bottles of water when woken up at 2am...then 4am...then 6am....then 7am with the other child for the school run..etc etc - you get the picture? lol
