Kings Lynn - where to have lunch

Hi there

Have been to Kings lynn a couple of times with my mum shopping and we have eaten at the Bakers Oven (awful) and the BHS restaurant (even more awful.) We'd like to shop in the town again but really need suggestions as to where we can get a DECENT lunch.

We like a good cooked lunch when we're out so are there any good restaurants/cafes/pubs etc that do good "pub-grub" type food that are near to the town centre? (i.e. somewhere within a very short walking distance.)

If you can help it will be appreciated because I really couldn't stand another bad meal in Lynn.

qsq x
PS. mum doesn't (but I do) like pizza or pasta so perhaps limits the choice a bit

    Hello quickstepqueen

I'll move your thread to the 'England' board, where it should get more responses.

  • The globe and the lattice are both decent pubs - both near the tuesday market place
  • Thanks wellsie82. Tuesday market place - that's where the corn exchange theatre is isn't it? Will defo have a look at those 2 suggestions. Thankyou ever so much for taking the time to reply.....you have saved my stomach from another awful BHS meal.
  • I'd suggest the same as Wellsie. The Globe is on the Tuesday Market place and the Lattice is just a short walk away. The Globe has a lovely beer garden which overlooks the river but might be a bit chilly this time of year! The Corn Exchange cafe serves light meals and snacks and you might have my sister serve you.

Been a little whilse since I was last in Lynn, but The Dukes Head in Tuesday Market Place was always a good place to get a decent lunch . Upstairs at Debenhams used to be ok , and the pub opposite ,think it was called the Hogs Head was also good ...but I dont remember a BHS just Littlewoods .But it has been a while. There was also a really nice little cafe nearby to the Post Office , Downeys or something similar , that was always quite pleasant. Good luck
  • Downeys closed about a couple of years ago. A real shame because they did lovely food. There's another little cafe there now but I haven't a chance to try it out. Littlewoods is now BHS.
