Making a curry

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could either point me in the right direction or give me some advice.
My partner and I are having a party at the beginning of next month and we always provide some food. Being a bit of a tight month, I'm looking to utilise what is in the freezer. We have two large chickens which were bought for us which we wouldn't have normally got ourselves (it was an offer-2 for £8, we buy less chicken and eat freedom food or free range if possible), so I was thinking of turning them into a curry to feed our friends.
I've never made curry before, but am willing to have a go at it, but need a recipe. I would prefer to be able to do it in the slow cooker so it can be kept warm throughout the party ready for whenever. I'm guessing I will need to cook the chickens first and then take all the meat off, but then what?
Thanks in advance
