Posting this as I think it may be of use - In the Argos Clearance they are retailing the Cookworks 6.5l slow cooker at just £11.99. I've got one as it's a great way to keep meal costs down, and cheaper to run than my oven! Wanted to share before they are all gone! I checked them out on Which? and they were in the best buys before they were reduced again. Hope this is useful to someone.

Hi, I bought one last week. Having never had a slow cooker Im really impressed with it so far. Though Ive only made beef casserole and a chicken broth.

Its a great size for a family of 5. Though I only filled it half full and we all had plenty to eat.

I got a free one after I ordered over £39 worth of paper from staples online recently.

They do free gifts and a slow cooker popped up the week I made the purchase. It's better than the one we had a few years back.

Makes meat really tender and absorbs all the juices mmm
