What's the deal?

The Times are running a promotion with Airmiles where 10 miles will be printed in the paper each day and 20 in the weekend papers. Up to 200 miles are still up for grabs (worth about £15) including some free miles online each week between 28 October and 24 November. Normally you get around 1 mile for a £2 spend so 10 miles for 50p is pretty good!

How do I get my miles?

Simply cut them out of The Times and send them in to airmiles. If you missed the envelope and application form in the times you can e-mail airmiles@the-times.co.uk and get a new one.

10 CUT & RUN miles to collect each day, Monday to Friday, in The Times.
20 CUT & RUN miles on Saturday and Sunday in The Times and The Sunday Times.
EXTRA 30 CUT & RUN miles at Times Online. 10 miles each week. Available for three weeks.

What does 200 miles get you?
  • Flights to:
    Marseille (plus £45.50 taxes), Bordeaux (plus £47.20 taxes), Toulouse (plus £47.00 taxes), Grenoble (plus £49.20 taxes) and Amsterdam (plus £58.10 taxes).
  • London Eye River Cruise
    Adult = 120 airmiles
    Child = 80 airmiles
  • London Eye
    Adult = 130 airmiles
    Child = 90 airmiles
You can also save up airmiles and use the Times cut and run ones with miles already in your account.

Is it worth buying The Times just for the airmiles?

Airmiles are worth about 7.8p each (see the Loyalty Schemes article for details of how this was calculated).

So
10 airmiles = 78p
20 airmiles = £1.56
30 airmiles = £2.34

The Times costs 65p during the week, and £2 on the weekend so it's worth it during the week but unless you're already buying it a the weekend don't bother!

Any catches?

The minimum amount of airmiles that can be sent in at at time is 100 and they must be received by 4 December. Bookings must be made by 31 May 2007 and be can be used for anything on airmiles.co.uk. You can top up with airmiles you already have but cut and run airmiles can only be used for one booking.
