Independant Banking Advisory Service (IBAS)

Has anyone experience of this organisation?
Are they ok/legit?

My partner is being chased by the Halifax and Counselling Intermediary Services (CIS) for a shortfall from a mortgage she and her ex had in 1995 (when their house was repossessed).

She found this site http://www.ibas.co.uk/ which seems to suggest they will (through their experience) negotiate the best deal with the bank on your behalf. Of course they want 250 quid to help do this.

Thats fine if they are on the level and can sort this out for her but if not then she cannot afford to throw it away.

Many thanks

Andy

  • Further to the previous thread, again has anyone using these forums also had experience of IBAS / Independent Banking Advisory Service?

I am considering using them to negotiate on a business debt from a liquidated company, which I personal guaranteed and is secured by a second charge.

    Any recommendations?

I think that this may be best posted on the debt free wannabe board as people over there are more clued up about the different companies.
I can say that the first things they will want to know from either of you is: Debt, how much, how many and what APR's. Where are you with them- (have you defaulted). Then they will ask to see a SOA which lists all of your income and expenditure monthly and yearly. Martin has a budget tool over on the right somewhere

They will offer advice and I suspect that they will tell you both to contact CCCS. Please follow one of the links over there.
You do not have to pay any money to sort out your debts there are charities who can sort them for you. Sometimes you are able to come to an arrangement with the company by yourself.
    HTH both of you.
