online v manual shopping

I shop oneline about every 3-4 weeks with asda, as I have a asda credit card I get free delivery if I spend above £100. So stock up on all frozen and non perishable goods.0

I tend to shop online monthly & then a quick whizz round for the offers & reduced items when I shop for bread, milk etc.
I did get the Ocado offer too & did start to compare my full Tesco's basket but found even with the offer I would be paying at least £20 more at Ocado & that was before I had completed the list. It was only then I realized how few branded goods I actually use.
Ocado's own brand was more expensive in almost every case, sometimes by quite a margin.
I always use the £3 delivery so even if I shopped every month of the year..which I don't tend to as I sometimes find I have enough to keep me going a while longer or during the summer for example if we are away, I can give at least one monthly shop a miss..so I will spend a maximum of £36 delivery a year but usually less.0 -
Def online, i've been doing it for a couple of years now, think i would lose the will to live if i had to go back to going to the store weekly. I do have a couple of gripes about online , mainly the substitutions and the christmas week. The thing that annoys me most is the delivery charge, but hey ho.0

I'm definately a shop in store person. I live in a rural area so the nearest supermarket is about 8 miles away. I have tried online shopping but as others have said the substitutes arn't always what you want. I also like the bulk of my fresh stuff for the weekend, so would want a Thursday evening or Friday delivery , which is (a) more expensive and (b) less chance of the things on offer being available so more substitutes and having to rush out on Saturday morning for the missing items.0

i like shopping in-store but it would be a pain as we don't have a car and walking back with my weekly shop is just too much, i can get whoopsies from work every evening so i'm not so worried about reduced stuff, and that also saves me quite a lot so i don't mind the delivery charge either.0

I shop in store now, but I did use Sainsburys all the time. Its true that its what suits you, in my case, Myself and OH were going after work and spend money in the cafe on food, so obviously the delivery cost was less.
If you are pushed for time for whatever reason, or to stop impulse buys then delivery is deffinetly worth doing IMO0 -
I've started grocery shopping online too and am in the middle of my Asda order right now! Having a wee look on here for offers to watch out for. It's definitely stopped the impulse buys and saved me money as well as time. Hit a problem last week though with an order from Asda. I had added 6 bottles of wine to the order (as you do
) as they were on the 3 for £10 offer. However, when the order arrived I'd been charged full price - nearly £20 extra! I rang to get it sorted and it appears that although they were on offer when I ordered, the offers ended before the delivery date. They refunded me when I said I would never shop online with them again, but it's made me wary. The website doesn't tell you when an offer ends. Anyone know how to get round this? 0 -
I do a fortnightly online shop as we live in a rural area and our large supermarkets are 30 miles away. but I dont order meat or veg as I like to see the quality of what I am buying.
The delivery charge is much less than I would spend in petrol to go to the supermarket and I dont have to spend an hour or so doing the shop either so it works for me.0 -

Downsides: delivery charge- this peeves me but I have signed up to Ocado delivery pass when discounted to £40 for the year.
Can you advise how you do this?
thanks0
