Home address on credit check different
Options
Newboy here!!
I recently bought a new suit in Burton and was offered a 10% if I took out a store card. I thought why not as I could then pay off the card and benefit from the added discount. However when they checked my credit I was turned down as there was a query on my address.
I moved in to a rented flat in Oct 09 and feature on the electoral register then since then. My official postal address I discovered was very slightly different to the one that the landlord had been using and I set up various bills with, including my bank account since. In September last year I managed to get Post Office to change the address to that the one the landlord had let the property with and they said they woudl notify the local authority. When checking my Equifax account the correct address is listed there.
Burton said they used Santandar for their credit and as the address had not been found on their database I was refused. Ironically I have a Santander credit card!! How can I get this rectified so all checks are looking for my correct address? Any help would be appreciated as I may want to get further credit in the future....
