Full English Wedding Breakfast

To be honest, I would prefer a buffet where I could just pick stuff that I liked. Why not have the full English for just you and your husband or just the top table?0

What a fab unusal idea, However have you thought about what the food would be like when it was served ? How many guests are you having ? Have you ever eaten breakfast in a hotel before? I would be worried about how it would be served . If you have 100 guests how will they prepare 100 fried eggs for example ? It will have to be cooked and kept hot.0

I love it, however think we are gonna go for the banger mash and onion gravy option

I wouldn't like it - a bit too heavy for me at that time. Any more mature guests may not be so happy either.
Why not have an afternoon tea instead?0 -
thanks everyone... we have 45 for the sit down inc me and OH... i thought it was a good idea lol.... its just as messy as spilling gravy all down your posh frock surly lol... plus what are mature guests??? for the sit down meal it is all family and 2 friends(best man and maid of honor) theres only my gran who would be a special anyway as she needs a special diet and OH grandad who would be happy for a free meal lol... it is a large hotel so they do breakfasts everyday...
anyways thank you all for your input its something to think about... might have to just give em all sausage and bacon butties lol! x0 -

Hey
I didnt like anything on the menu at the place we are getting married so I asked if they would do something else?
I asked for Prawn Cocktail, roast pork and then our wedding cupcakes served as pudding with cream and strawberries - they were happy to do it and it was cheaper than all their menus:T so if you dont like anything on the menu you could make your own.
Personally I love an english breakfast but if I had one at a wedding I dont think I would want to dance/drink after as they leave me feeling blearugh0 -
I reckon go for it. Any wedding breakfast with limited choices will be offputting to someone. Breakfasts are at least pretty good for vegetarians too these days! And, as people will know what to expect, they probably won't choose a full breakfast that morning.
You know your guests best, enjoy it!
(PS I was at a wedding recently that had bangers and mash for the meal, which we all loved. Later on, they brought out big trays of chips, buttered rolls, fish fingers and bacon, and you could assemble your own roll - it went down a TREAT!)0 -
I would personally rather have bangers and mash or a buffet - love Dekazer's suggestion of following up posh bangers and mash with making your own roll later on - but as others have said, it's your wedding and do what you like."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0

I like the idea, I went to a wedding last year and they did a mini 'posh' breakfast for starter and it was lovely, everything was top quality and cooked and presented really nicely. I think if it was a fancy looking breakfast it'll go down really well. OH's Aunt owns a B&B on the North Yorkshire coast and serves an award winning breakfast and I'd happily have that as my wedding breakfast, she serves it like it's a work of art!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0

It wouldn't be for me I'm afraid - I'd prefer the buffet or bangers and mash options. What about having some breakfast options as part of the buffet so people could go for that if they want, but have more traditional afternoon food as well?
