Anyone heard of Hanover sterling?

My husband just had a phone call off them, he was put through from a credit resource place. He couldn't talk properly as its tea time and were busy with the kids. They started to ask personal questions like dob etc I told him to ask who they were as they could be anyone.
Anyone used them or heard of them. Just googled them and they don't sound good. Is there anything we can say to get them off our back? We are dealing with our debt ourselves and we don't want to consolidate as we can be debt free in the next 2 years. We are just getting back on our feet after my husband being out of work for 6 months.

Do not talk to anyone who rings you.
What sort of credit resource place was he ringing? If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
They are a fee charging company. Dont deal with them, there are plenty of people who offer free advice.Tallyhoh! Stopped Smoking October 2000. Saved £29382.50 so far!0

they called us, they had all our details. My husband didn't get chance to ask how they got our number, as he asked them to ring back laster on as we are busy having tea etc.
We are not interested in consolidating so we want them off our back.:smileyheaSAHM to my 4 beautiful children and wife:smileyhea0 -
Why is this a problem. Just tell them that if they ring you again, you will report them to the OFT.

We don't know the exact name of the credit resource company as we have 4 kids and it was chaos. They phone at the wrong time. We don't have a cordless phone so he could hardly hear what the guy was saying. I was wary so told him not to give too much info. I said to my husband tell them to ring later when the kids are in bed.
The problem is we don't want to be harassed by phone.:smileyheaSAHM to my 4 beautiful children and wife:smileyhea0 -
Are you signed up with the telephone preference service?
if not, get sorted.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

And then ask the name and contact details of the muppet calling you, advise him/her you are on the TPS and that you are reporting him/her.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

Another possibility, is that one of your creditors has passed your contact details on to them?
If they have done that without your prior informed consent, then it is a breach of the OFT guidelines. And possibly data protection as well.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

thank you all for your replies, my husband will tell them firmly where to go!
I have a feeling it is Lloyds cc who could have passed it on. Hopefully find out where they did get our number before he tells them where to go
