Hi,
been searching for reasonable priced wedding dresses as on a tight budget and have searched on ebay, just wondering has anyone bought a dress from china and was it as good a quality as in the photos? some of these look amazing and very cheap.

Many look cheap for a reason. Some people have had some good luck but there's a lot of horror stories. Don't have time to dig right now but try doing a forum search on China/Ebay/Milly/Landy and you'll find a lot of threads0

Hi,
I just got a Maggie Sottero dress for 250 pounds . It is lovely and you wouldn't know it has been worn.
There are lots on Ebay , depends on your budget and the style you want. I knew what I wanted so had to pay a bit more but there are lots on there.
Good Luck0 -
Sorry if I got OP's post wrong but I was referring to the China copies sites. Buying a used dress that you know is real is different...as you say, if they're in good condition you wouldn't know they're not new. But the Chinese copies in some cases have been very poor quality and you really don't always know what you're getting. At least if you buy a used Maggie from a UK seller, there's a good chance it will be a Maggie. Like I said, some people have been successful in getting gowns from China but then again...here's a blog from Linda that sums up some experiences and will give an idea of what to think about

It was probably me that was wrong lol! I should of explained myself better. What I should of said is read, read and read some more on here about dresses from china. Why not consider looking on Ebay or preloved as you are not taking such a chance. As you said there are some awful stories around about poor copies. I decided I couldn't cope with the stress of trying china (despite my Maggie dress says made in china!) Sorry0 -
landy gets good reviews, as does gianinarbridal
both on ebay (landy as...asap something agghhh cant remember!! lol)
and then you get the illusion of protection through ebay / paypal etc
stay as far away from indesigngown.com (sore subject tonight)0 -
The reason some of the pics on the chinese sites etc look so great is that they are just picture 'lifted' from the original designers website, so it's not actually indicative of the quality of dress you will receive. Proceed with caution. Don't risk any money you can't aford to loose if the dress is not up to standard when it arrives.0
