Washing Machine Cleaner

Hi
Can anyone tell me the best (and cheapest) to clean the inside of my washing machine?
Its mainly the drawer area where I can't get to but where there is a grotty build up of fabric softener and powder Ive already taken the drawer out and given it a good old scrub but there are places I just can't get to inside
It isn't smelling yet...... and I have read somewhere on here about using vinegar on an empty cycle but I couldnt find the thread agai when I searched
Many thanks for your help

  • i run a 90 degree wash every 6 weeks or so with white vinegar and i also use white vinegar instead of fabric conditioner, it doesn tmake your clothes smell either when putting it in with clothes.

I use soda crystals on a 90 degree wash every now and then. I have also discovered Lakeland do a mould spray which is fabulous! You spray it on, leave it for 30 minutes and wash off. I cleaned all the inside of my soap drawer, and the jets at the top. My machine is now spotless! :)

I use soda crystals in every wash, and every 10 days or so I wash the dishcloths and tea towels on the hottest wash, so I don't get any build up of gunk, so I definitely think soda crystals are the way to go!

I always put my washing powder/liquid straight into the drum. I think that way that all of it gets used to actually wash - I got tired of always finding a huge gooey residue in the dispenser drawer.

I've also heard that citric acid is supposed to be good for cleaning out the washing machine.
