Recieved this today and it gave me a laugh...I thought these emails were supposed to try to convince you to trust the sender?
From The Manager,
International Commercial Bank
First Light Branch
Top Urgent Message.

Hi,

This email is not in anyway an official but a personal and confidential proposal to you. My name is Dr.Kevin Kwesi. I am the manager of First Light branch of international Commercial Bank . I am married with two kids. I am writing to solicit your assistance in the transfer of US$ 3,550,020.00.

This fund is the excess of what my branch in where I am the manager made as profit last year.I have already submitted an approved for end of the Year report to the head office and they will never know of this excess amount that i have already put in an escrow deposit account anonymously.

As an officer of the bank, I cannot be directly connected to this money thus I am impelled to request for your mutual assistance to apply and claim this money into your bank account for further investment in your country. I intend to part 30% of this fund to you while 70% shall be for me.

There are practically no risk involved in this transaction and everything that you do to claim this fund will be under legitimate ground. The mode of transfer is practically on your instruction to the bank.

All I need from you is to stand as the original depositor of this fund. If you accept this offer,I will appreciate your timely response, email me with my private email
Ah I see...so you've committed fraud against the company you work for but I'm still supposed to trust you with my bank details? Of course I will. Can't see any problems with that at all....

It makes me laugh how these people think they can get away with this sort of thing, it also bemuses me that any one ever falls for it. If something seems too good to be true, it usually is.

Takes me back to yesterday evening, having a giggle at the p-p-p-power and 419eater etc sites I saw posted in these forums.

I can't believe people are still persevering with this scam. I though these went out years ago. :D
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark

I would love to be able to contact these people,i would love to go along with there little scam promising to send them the £15.000 or whatever it takes, sounding all excited.

And when it comes to the nitty gritty tell them to Sod off,and hang up.BBC Radio Northampton's consumer show did this once a long time ago live on air, they contacted these scammers and promised to send them the money, then they told them who they were the scammers hung up.It was hilarious.

They send out millions of these daily and, sadly, some people around the world do actually respond and ultimately get ripped off. It is a sad fact that, if the scammers were not making money, Spam email would simply not exist.

Ain't that the truth haha. I find it funny also that working for the bank makes them a doctor. I'm also amused by the fact they use such terrible grammar, yet expect the recipient to believe they knows words like "impelled" Someone must have had a sneaky look through a dictionary.

Now you mention it *imagines a spam free world* I just momentarily went to some geeky Heaven.

I work with barristers, and we routinely get sent documents from people who have fallen for the 'Your elderly rich relative that you never knew existed has died and left you everything' scam. They send us copies of passports, bank details, deeds and personal information..... we have to call them and tell them they are being conned, and even then people don't believe us. I caught one guy on his way to Western Union with $600 in his pocket!

If we were less honest, we could make a fortune. Damn my scruples!
