No worries there, it'll all go on Ebay and the proceeds straight into the bank account, my understanding is that everything will reach its market value and its all visible and traceable...... I hope:huh: There's nothing there that would go for more than £75 on a good day, about 95% of it will struggle to reach £5 on a good day, probably £2k worth of stuff altogether. I don't think its even worth bothering to try to sell my CD's or DVD's there's nothing there beyond your common stuff that doesn't sell on Ebay.

I should have said, its all tat I've bought over the years, DVD's, books, Star Wars stuff, never paid more than £100 for anything, 99% of it cost £15 or under when I bought it. There's nothing 'valuable' there in the sense of antiques, etc. Its just theres quite a lot and cumulatively it could be worth a couple of grand on Ebay, and could be seen as a 'collection'.

that's cool. i just wanted to say it in case you weren't aware! the OR is only really interested in items that would fetch decent money if sold at auction eg over £1000 so don't feel you have to sell all your worldly goods for the purposes of listing no assets. the only asset i listed was my car
  • in the assets bit of the form i only wrote my car and then wrote 'normal house hold goods - £2000.00' and they never even asked me what they were - its a mith that they come and strip your house bare, one to many people sadly believe and never look at bankruptcy as an option because of it. i also thought this but after reading stuff on the internet realised is wasnt true. i doubt they would have much interest in your stuff, but be careful about jewellery, they questioned me about my engagement ring while i was there for an interview - so i told them it was a fake

Thanks for your reply and for taking the time and interest in my worries, it really is appreciated. That is a relief, my car is probably the only single item I have that would fetch more than £75 if sold, its a foregone conclusion the car will go as its not essential.

Thanks also for your reply, thats probably what I'll do as well. I've never had any interest in expensive luxury items or gadgets, big TV's, flashy cars, etc. But I'm the quintessential geek who can't resist buying stuff that most people wouldn't give house room to (none of it expensive on its own, but when buying loads of things.....).

The most expensive things I've bought - ever - apart from the car were....

    Laptop - 4 years ago at £800

    PS3 - 3 Years ago at £240

    Xbox - 3 years ago at £160

Apart from that I struggle to think of one item I've bought at more than £75, most of it was in the <£20 bracket. I've truly mastered the art of converting a lot of money into nothing of great value. E.G - buying DVD's and books when they first come out instead of waiting a few months until they're like £3-4 in Asda. None of the stuff I've ever owned has been things that are often mentioned here like Jewellery, Art, Antiques, etc. In short if I ever offer investment advice please run a mile.....

I'm totally paranoid about the whole prospect, I was even worried that they'd want my dog (a little rescue mongrel dog) until I realised he costs more a month (pet insurance, food, chew toys, etc) than I paid for him......£25.
