I have big problems, can anyone advise?
Hello all,
OK, in as simple terms as possible, here's my situation;
I need to get a loan for £6700 by the 7th Of December to pay for surgery.
I've had no income (but £3000 sitting in my current account) for the last three months (spent all the money in the last couple of weeks so its basically empty now). I've recently started working again and should be paid around £1350 on the 24th of November.
I called Lloydstsb (I have a current account with them) today and they refused the loan (I said I wanted 7500). The guy said to try again at the end of the month as accounts are reviewed on a monthly basis.
What are the chances of them saying yes when they look at my account on the 24th of November if I call them? They said that accounts are reviewed on the 21st of every month so would this mean I have to wait until the following month! If so then I need to get a loan some other way.
Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks.

For them to turn you down straight away may mean problems with your credit files. Have you had a recent copy to see what is on there.
The only other reason I can think of is that you have had no money going in for 3 months so your application may have been refused for this reason.
Is it convienient for you to actually go into a branch to see someone in person?0 -
Hi,
No, I can't really go in person. You're right, I had no money going in during the summer. Prior to that I was receiving loan offers from Lloyds in the post all the time (if that means anything).
Is there a lender that would give me say 5800? I don't care about the APR.
What limit would I receive on a credit card? Would I even be given one? Thanks.0 -
OK I've arranged an appointment for Friday afternoon to see someone at Lloydstsb
What should I say going in there to improve my chances?
I was told on the phone that I should bring my new contract which states my income. Anything else? Thanks.0 -
Sorry if this is none of my business, but private operations are for those with good insurance or lots of money. It's an obvious question, but can't you get it done on the NHS?I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0

Unfortunately no, this cannot be done on NHS.0

You will need to qualify how you will repay while you are recuperating after your treatment.
I assume that if your new employer has any benefits they won't kick in until you have been employed at least 12 months.0
