Kids activity pack

Hi All

I'm getting married on 24th June this year and want to put together some little packs to keep the kids entertained.

Has anyone seen any printable colouring pages relating to weddings? I'm going to print some out and include some cheap Mr T crayons, some bubbles, some sweets & ................

Any suggestions would be appreciated! The whole wedding is going to cost well under £1000 so the cheaper the better!;)

Thanks xx

I had a small wedding in a castle, so i got for four kids, a calico sack each, then filled it with medieval pictures to colour in, coloured pencils, a knight pencil sharpener, a pop up castle book, some choc coins, etc, just get the things from poundland, they do felt tips/coloured pencils, notebooks/colouring books etc...watch what bubbles you get, some can stain fabric....
  • Do a search for bride and groom colouring sheets and you should get plenty of results.

For my wedding, I did a similar thing and included some little matchbox cars from poundland, a couple of animal balloons, some healthy snacks i.e raisins, dried fruit, and some bouncy balls (we were outside though). I got most of the bits from tesco, poundland and home bargins. If you start having a look now, you should get plenty of cheap bits.

Hope you've managed to find some suitable colouring pages. I'm another one who wouldn't recommend bubbles for a wedding. They look great and the kids do like them but they don't half create a mess. Most kids tip them up accidently and they leave damp messes on their clothes and on the tables, floors.... Just a thought...;)

We did an activity pack for all the children at our wedding last year and they went down very well and kept them busy all day. They each had a brown paper bag filled with age appropriate things eg colouring books and crayons, yoyo's and bubbles and a couple of snacks. Also, the girls got a polly pocket set and the boys got a lego set (both half price in tesco in one of their toy sales). I prob spent about £5 on each child and it was well worth the money. I also had a basket filled with some second hand games that I picked up at boot sales, cost me about another £5.

    Congrats on your wedding btw!

Thanks for all your replies. I never thought of the mess with the bubbles - may rethink that one! I really like the idea of the basket with games in. Have some old ones I was going to get rid of on ebay so may as well keep them and stick them in a box.

Oooohh a castle.........(wonder how I could convince my OH to stump up for that one!!!)

    Thanks again xx

It was at Comlongon castle in Scotland, there were only 19 of us altogether, so worked out quite cheaply. It was fantastic.

You could also try a "photo challenge" for older children using disposable cameras....

e.g. take a photo of someone wearing pink, take a photo of someone wearing something sparkly...

Would be fun and take a while to complete!
