So close now !!!

Hi everyone , just thought I would pop in here and say hello
because I have been reading this forum for years now :o.

In that time we have thrown anything and everything at the mortgage,
and really changed our lifestyle to avoid waste of any kind.

My husband wasnt all that interested when we first began ,
it was always me who talked about it and dreamed about it.

But something amazing happened , when our statement showed we were down to £19,000 my husband suddenly woke up, lol .
He said he felt so excited and couldnt believe how well we have done.

This month we will be paying off another £1000
and our balance will be £16,000 :j.
Yesturday we looked at all our old statements and its amazing to see it tumbling down , year by year.

Now I have a illness that means I cant go to work ,
so thank goodness we have done this.
We expect to have It paid off next year.
Kindness costs nothing :)

  • :TWell done you two!!

Be careful at the end as our Building Soc was going to charge us £50 for paying off early. It may be worth looking into. We were down to £100 paying pennies but it saved us £50.

Sorry to hear you are not very well - sounds like it was well worth overpaying the mortgage.

    Well done!

That is brilliant to hear you've done so well. We are also in a position of nearly being mortgage free, so i can relate to how much effort you've all put in.

    Well done.
