Just spoke to FD this morning applying for a 5 year fix at 3.89%.
Had a little bit of a battle to get it as the chap said 'they were no longer offering this product' as their reserves they set aside had all gone.
Rate is still showing on their web site though so suggest if you are after this deal don't hang about!!

A number of 5 year deals are coming off at the moment - and expected to return at higher rates (and my guess that this will apply to shorter deals soon as well)Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I phoned them last night at 8:30PM after a weekend of running figures to see if it was worth paying our redemption on a Nationwide 5.18% fix with just under 6 years remaining.
The mortgage was withdrawn at 5:00pm yesterday.
Been back on the phone twice today to try and pick one up, but they are not budging

I managed to hold one today,( I have 5 days to decide) but only because I had arranged the appointment last week.
Although during the assessment, I was shocked to hear when talking to the advisor that I was not eligible for any of there offset products
due to my earnings which are £28000 (I only want to borrow £50,000 against a property of £250,000,)
so not sure what that was all about?????0 -
