I want cheap disposable daily contact lenses

Does anyone know where i can buy the cheapest daily disposable contact lenses from? I dont mind buying 3 months supply at a time but no more then 3 months.

Any help would be great

presumably you have a prescription? havent done it myself but I know you can buy them from the net quite cheaply. I get mine from opticians and they are £27 a month but I know you can get them cheaper than that. Have a bit of a google and see what turns up. I am sure there have been threads on here in the past as well

my brother swears by them. He has always been happy with the lenses. I think the price is £6.99 a month per eye, including delivery + they give you a free 4 day trial.

Can anyone supply more info on ordering lens and/or specs on line please?

Have just been given a new prescription and would like to go back to wearing lens after a break of approx five years. I am short sighted and have been prescribed slightly weaker for long distance and slightly stronger for reading.

At sight test, it was suggested that the lens could be one eye for distance and one for reading which I would get used to. I would still need new specs as a back up though wouldn't I? Frames I like with varifocal lenses were £125 + £175!! Contact lens were approx £18 per month.

Was told I would need a consultation re contact lens before going any further with them.

This is free if I go ahead with their plan. How do I proceed with ordering on the net, would I have to pay for a contact lens consultation first?

Lots of questions and some I am sure I haven't even asked, but would appreciate any input from all of you.

This should give you all the info you need. The last time I bought some online, all I needed were details of my prescription (they didn't ask to verify them) and I paid circa £54 for 3 months supply of dailies.

Also, if you are a member of quidco, there are a couple of contact lens providers on there so you can get cashback as well!!

1 big tip... don't buy lenses off the net unless you are an experienced contact lens wearer. Your optician may need to trial a few different pairs with you, before settleing on a pair suitable.

I would hold out to be honest, but it's up to you. Opticians sometimes charge a consultation fee if they realize you ain't buying the lenses from them.

I would be very careful. I've wore lenses for years, and have been dispensed the same make of lenses for at least 7 years now, and I've only just recently started to buy contact lenses from the internet.

I've been using Post optics for ages .. they have a deal set up with many independent opticians to take care of prescriptions/check ups etc for a fixed cost.Really good service and (I think) reasonable prices ... however, have just posted on here to see if anyone knows of a cheaper deal.

Give this one a go....Use sainsbury's online lenses to establish who your normal lenses are manufactured by then use the link above to order them cheaper :-)

Freenet lenses also allow you to order as little as 1 months supply if required.

I found these prices way cheaper than anywhere Iv'e been before.

Best prices I've found !! Even cheaper with a 3 month box for £19.49

At these prices no point in bothering with the hassle of cleaning lenses every day.

Do your own checking but I agree the https://www.daysoft.co.uk site offers the best value for a small order plus they offer 4 days free on top of the 32 in a pack vs usual 30 so get 20% more 1st month for the lowest price.
However if like most people you buy 6 or even 12 months at a time (this is once you know the lenses are OK for you) then you can make bigger savings !
For example my wife uses Focus Dailies which are a very popular lens and widely available, if I buy 6 months worth (180 pairs) then you could pay:
£105.96+£3 p&p= £108.96 at Vision Direct ,less 20% (£21.19) thro Quidco or
£103.96 zero p&p at Contact for Lens, less 8% (£8.32) again thro Quidco if you are happy to wait for the cashback Vision Direct works out the cheapest UK based option to date at £87.77 after cashback for 6 months.
Plus if you buy with a cashback credit card you can chip even more off (max 3%). If you have the money go for 360 pair or 1 year option as this is the recomended time between eye exams, when your prescription could change.

Much has been said on other threads about the extra cost of eye exams if you do not buy from the Optition doing the exam, I now use Tesco and can say there have been no problems with getting a signed contact lens specification as they have their own web site you can make a point that you want to order on-line and in my experience that will stop any further questions, also I have only paid once in the last 3 years as they make a point of sending out free eye exam vouchers worth £25 also they regularly have free eye exam offers in store in addition, so why pay at all !

Finally for the hardcore savers out there (you know who you are..) check out the Rpoints web site and go to Discount Contact Lenses.com. This is an American site where you can make the same order as above for $166.35 about £85 if you use a Nationwide creditcard less the 4% cashback (does not include shipping). If doing this I would always go 360 pairs (cheaper still) then you are covered by Visa also if anything goes wrong.
P.S this site will also accept coupon codes (discount codes) if anyone knows of a good code that is still valid then post it here and that should make them them cheap as chips :money:

I've just booked for my annual eye test for contact lenses and they are going to charge me £75 for it. If I had been buying my contact lenses from them, they would have charged me only £20 for the test. Doesn't that defeat the point of buying lenses cheaply on the Internet? Is this practice common among opticians?
