So my hairdryer has given up the ghost...the overheat thing keeps cutting in after 30 seconds (which, when you think of it, is a blessing!)
So as I have bum length thick naturally curly hair, a hairdryer defo comes under neccessities in my book!!
The one I have (had) I bought when I was pregnant and my daughter is now 9 so it done me proud but I am wondering if anyone has a hairdryer that they think is fabby.
I don't diffuse (makes me look like Shirley Temple!) and I don't use any attachments so those aren't a thing I would purposefully buy a hairdryer for.
I guess I just need one that fires out plenty hot air (much like me some would say *boom boom*!!).
Obvs I am looking for a pretty ecomonical one but, as I say, it is a thing that is needed so would be prepared to pay a little more if needed.

I have at least four hairdyers, and my favourite is an ionic travel dryer from Remington.0

Really?
How interesting - I wouldn't have thought a travel hairdryer would have had that much oomph.
Dunno if I am up for a travel hairdryer though...think I prefer something quite big and solid in my hand (ooh err missus!!:rotfl::rotfl:)0 -
Babyliss Pro all the way.
I have my original Babyliss my brother bought me some 20 years ago (I think his GF at the time was a hairdresser:D) it's still going strong, I now use that one mostly for the dog. I bought another because I thought I'd lost it in a hotel about 7-8 years ago, that's still going strong too.
Before I got my Babyliss I used to go through hairdryers like no-ones business, they used to last about 9-12 months max, went through all the brands, none of them lasted.

My favourite is one I got from Lidl (in the Desperate Housewives packaging). It's ionic and costs around £10. I have a more expensive hairdryer but the Lidl one is MUCH better. I bought mine December 2009 but noticed they had them in store again around Christmas so I got another one in case this one breaks.0

I think mine is 2000w which is quite unusual for a travel dryer as they are normally about 1200w.
I have the opposite to you, I can't cope with a big/heavy dryer and I need something light!0 -
I did have (and loved) a Parlux one, that I got from Sally's but through my hairdresser. It wasn't cheap but it did last, until it blew up.
I bought a Babyliss one from Makro a couple of weeks ago...it's 2100w 3 heat settings, 2 power settings and a 'cold shot' It was just over £20 with the VAT, so really cheap and it's goodOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -

it. About 4 years old and still amazing

I swear by my ETI Turbo Dryer, most salons around here use them and I love mines, infact I have 2, bought one when they were on Sale in Sallys just incase mines blew up and it hasn't so far, had it about 4 years.
Dries my hair so fast, only thing is they don't come with many styling tools, just the dryer and a nossell (sp?)
I'd recommend to anyone

Well after looking about I actually plumped for a Remington one which was £40 reduced to £12:j
2000w, no extra attachements which I won't use and bumps the price up and it has this fancy conditioning mist system which helps with frizz (handy for my uber curly hair)
It came with 2 cartridges so I will see if the mist makes a difference and if so I can replace them when needed...if not then the hairdryer can be used without them.
For once I am looking forward to getting up for work tomorrow so I can wash and dry my hair!!!:rotfl::rotfl:
Thanks for all replies:D0 -
If money is no object on the US based site makeupalley they seem to swear by the Sedu Revolution. Only SpaceNK has it over here and its around the £120 mark! Does make you curious though doesn't it...?!0
