Switching from interest only to repayment mortgage

Hi,

I've used these forums, many times but never posted and now I'm in need of some help and advice... which I'm guessing I'm going to be asking a lot of the coming months!!

Basically it's a new year, a new mind and I have some new money... so I'm starting to look at mortgages. I've got my head around most things (I hope) but I'm struggling to find an answer anywhere..

Can I change from a interest only mortgage to a repayment mortgage??

I'm keen to go on interest only as obviously the monthlys are lower & my wages will stretch me on a repayment mortgage. However, in May I'm expecting a pay rise which should allow me to move a repayment mortgage and pay the costs.

Will lenders allow this?

Thanks in advance.... OJones
